For having the highest redundancy, we use the rule of two
Sending a backup stream from the same ISP leaves your internet connection as a single point of failure. For higher resiliency use connections from two different providers. This way if one provider has a problem, only one stream will be affected.
Most encoders (e.g., OBS) do not support sending two streams. In this case, you must run two encoder instances. The second instance should use the backup stream key and point to a different ingest endpoint than the first instance.
To increase the diversity of network paths from your encoder to Twitch, we recommend streaming your primary and backup feeds to two different ingest servers. This minimises risk of network congestion in transit and also offers protection against an issue at the ingest server itself.
One of the last part reundancy is electricity, ideally your encoders should be separated to another circuit or phase.
