1. Do I need the Internet to use Yandex.Auto

For the online services — yes, you do. For instance, you will not be able to check the weather, traffic or conditions on the roads. At the same time, Yandex.Auto has features that work offline — for example, offline-navigation, FM-radio and audio player

2. How do I connect Yandex.Auto to the Internet?

If you have purchased Yandex.Auto infotainment system and had installed it in one of the certified centers, then the Internet will connect automatically.

If you have purchased a new car with Yandex.Auto system already installed, you can get access to the internet with a built-in LTE modem, external modem or through your mobile phone (by sharing an internet connection). Not all of the cars with Yandex.Auto support built-in and external modems. For more detailed information, contact your authorized dealer.

3. Why is there no built-in modem in my car?

Yandex is responsible only for the software component (solution) of the infomedia system, and the car manufacturer determines the technical features of the device. You can check with your authorized dealer if you can install a modem in your car.

4. Do you plan to release a separate Yandex.Auto app for App Store* and Google Play**?

Yandex.Auto is a platform for a car infomedia system. If you want to use Yandex services on your phone or tablet, just install the necessary applications.

5. Can I install the application from the App Store or Google Play in addition to Yandex.Auto?

You cannot install third-party applications on Yandex.Auto device.

6. Are you planning to partner up with car manufacturer X? Will Yandex.Auto be in the X car?

We are negotiating with various automotive market players. We will announce all of the launches, stay tuned.

7. How do I update Yandex.Auto?

You can update it online or at the certified service station. You can find out which method is available in a particular car model from an authorized dealer. This does not apply to maps in Navigator — they are automatically updated every day, regardless of the installed version of Yandex.Auto.

8. Can I download Yandex.Auto on my own?

Yandex.Auto adapts specifically to each car model, taking into account all the technical capabilities of the hardware, and we cannot guarantee stable operation of the system with all types of head units. You cannot install Yandex.Auto by yourself.

9. I have submitted my order, when will I receive my device?

Wait for the call from the contact center to confirm your order.

If your request has been approved by 16:00, then the order will be transferred to the courier service on the day of processing and delivered within 1 business day. For example, if you made an order on Monday at 13:00, the courier will arrive on Wednesday from 10:00 to 18:00.

If your request has been approved after 16:00, then the order will be transferred to the courier service the next day and delivered within 2 business days. For example, if you made a request on Friday at 18:00, the courier will arrive on Wednesday from 10:00 to 18:00.

10. What can Alice do?

Alice understands lots of commands, here are just a few examples:

  • Using Navigator: «Create a route home», «Let’s go home», «Find the closest gas station».
  • Controlling the radio: «Turn on the „Free kilometers“ radio».
  • Managing widgets: «Show me the weather», «Turn on the radio», «Open Navigator».
  • Get information about the weather, currency rates, and find out the latest news: «What is the dollar exchange rate?», «Tell me the latest news».
  • Alice answers simple questions on her own. For example, «What is the name of the president of France?»
  • You can play games with Alice, such as «Cities», «Words», «I doubt it», and others.

11. I have a suggestion on adding functionality or fixing errors, how do I contact you?

12. Modern technology allows you to display information about the condition of the car — for example, tire pressure or oil level. Do you plan to add similar functions to Yandex.Auto?

We have that in our plans — we are convinced that our services should be deeply integrated into cars. However, a lot depends on the automakers in this matter. We are negotiating with them, and we will announce all new functions.

13. How is user data protected?

We store user data in accordance with Yandex. In addition, to protect this data, we work with car manufacturers.

14. Will I be able to service the car under warranty after installing the infomedia system?

Yes, if the system is installed in one of the certified centers.

15. Will the rear-view camera work after installing the infomedia system?

Yes, if the camera is installed in the car as part of the standard configuration, or if it is not built-in, but is installed in one of the certified installation centers.

16. Will the parktronic system work after installing the infomedia system?

Sound notification when approaching obstacles will remain.

17. How long does it take to install the infomedia system?

From 20 minutes to an hour. Installation time depends on the vehicle model.

18. How do I sign up for the installation?

After you receive Yandex.Auto, call the contact center at 8 (800) 250-54-51. A specialist will help you choose the appropriate installation center, date and time.

19. What models is the infomedia system suitable for?

The current list of models can be found in the catalog.

20. Where should I go in case of a warranty claim?

Warranty period is 12 months. You can read the detailed information on Yandex. If you have a question about the warranty service, call 8(800) 250-54-51 from 10:00 to 20:00. An appointment to the service center will be made for you.

21. How do I add a new FM radio station?

If Yandex.Auto does not have the necessary radio station, you can save it to favorites by clicking on the heart-shaped icon.

22. Can I turn off Yandex.Navigator notifications?

Yes, for that you should check Yandex.Navigator settings.

23. How much do I need to pay for Yandex.Music once the 6-months subscription that comes with Yandex.Auto is over?

After six months, you will need to renew your subscription. You can read about Yandex.Music subscription on the service’s website.

24. What do I need to bring with me to the installation center?

Bring your passport — you will need it to register the SIM-card, which comes with the head unit. Prepare the username and password for Yandex services and credit card details — this way you can log in to Yandex.Navigator and get a 6-months free subscription to Yandex.Music right at the installation center.

25. On what conditions is the Internet provided when buying a Yandex.Auto infomedia system?

If you have purchased Yandex.Auto separately and had installed it at one of the certified centers, you will receive 6 months of Internet for free. You can use Yandex services without.

After that, you will need to pay 249 rubles per month for the Internet.
